AI Career Launchpad

AI Career Launchpad: AI & Automation Course

An applied AI career accelerator for students, creators and working professionals. Connect research, documents, spreadsheets and workflow automation around a project you can test, improve and explain.

Understand the subject

What does AI Career Launchpad cover?

AI Career Launchpad is a broader applied AI learning path. It connects briefing and evaluation with research, everyday work, workflow design and a portfolio handover. The aim is to explain how a useful result was produced and checked, rather than just show an impressive answer.

What you are working towards

  • Break a work problem into inputs, decisions, checks and a useful output.
  • Create a connected set of research, document, data and workflow artefacts using information you are allowed to share.
  • Test a workflow with ordinary and incomplete inputs, and keep consequential actions behind human approval.
  • Present your role, evidence, revisions and limitations in a clear portfolio case study.

The learning outline

What you’ll practise.

This outline describes the learning direction. The written syllabus for your batch confirms the software, teaching sequence and assessment.

01

AI foundations and task selection

Understand what a language model can help with, where it can fail and which parts of a task need human judgement.

02

Briefing and output evaluation

Build task briefs, define acceptance criteria, compare responses and record the revisions that improved them.

03

Research with traceable sources

Develop a research question, organise permitted sources and separate supported findings from assumptions.

04

Documents, presentations and communication

Turn checked information into useful summaries, outlines, slide narratives and clear workplace messages.

05

Spreadsheet reasoning and data checks

Work with a small sample dataset, explain formulas and validate totals, missing values and generated interpretations.

06

No-code workflows and AI assistants

Map triggers, inputs and outputs; practise approval steps, error handling and a small test log before using real data.

07

A prototype with a practical purpose

Outline a simple service or internal tool, define user steps and test whether the proposed workflow solves the original problem.

08

Portfolio, handover and career communication

Build a case study, explain your contribution and describe skills accurately in a CV, portfolio or project discussion.

How a small project takes shape.

  1. Choose a bounded problemStart with a fictional small-business task and one intended user. Write the useful outcome and the decisions that must stay with a person.
  2. Build a small working exampleUse a source pack and sample data. Create the research note, draft or workflow in small stages, with a check after each one.
  3. Test what can go wrongTry a missing fact, an unclear instruction or an invalid value. Record the issue and how the process stops or asks for review.
  4. Explain the handoverPackage the brief, outputs, test notes and limitations. Show what you made and what another person would need to run it responsibly.

Make the work visible

A portfolio kit with a reason behind every file.

Use these suggested artefacts to connect the learning. The review questions make progress easier to discuss; they are not a claim about existing learner results.

01 / Portfolio practice

A research note with a source trail

State the question, link permitted sources and separate supported findings from assumptions.

Review question: Can another person trace each important claim?

02 / Portfolio practice

A checked workplace output

Turn the brief into a useful document, slide outline or sample-data summary.

Review question: Can you explain and verify the result without relying on the AI answer?

03 / Portfolio practice

A workflow with a human review step

Map inputs, decisions and outputs. Try a missing fact and keep outward actions behind approval.

Review question: Does the process stop or ask for review when something important is missing?

04 / Portfolio practice

A portfolio case study and handover

Present the brief, your contribution, useful outputs, test notes and limitations.

Review question: Can someone understand what you made, what changed and what still needs work?

Focused prompting or a broader AI project?

AI Prompting concentrates on briefs, response comparison and checking. Launchpad connects those foundations to workplace outputs, sample data, workflow design and a portfolio explanation.

Keep the scope realistic: using AI tools for work is different from training machine-learning models. This path focuses on applied use.

Try a workflow decision

From a task to a useful handover.

Original fictional examples. These prepared steps run locally; no AI service is called and no message is sent.

The brief: A fictional stationery shop needs a short plan for a notebook launch.

  1. 01 / Input

    Use known information

A checked product sheet: recycled-paper notebook, two cover colours, price not yet supplied.

  2. 02 / Draft

    Make a working version

Prepare a three-post outline using the supplied product facts. Keep the unknown price marked as pending.

  3. 03 / Human review

    Check before an action

Check product claims against the sheet, remove unsupported sustainability claims and confirm the missing price before publication.

  4. 04 / Handover

    Keep the useful trail

A content-plan draft, a fact-check note and a list of details the shop must confirm.

A draft is ready to check. Follow the review step, then record what a person approved or changed.

Your turn: choose a fictional task, write its inputs and acceptance criteria, then test one ordinary input and one incomplete input. Keep a short log of the result. Automation should know when to stop, too.

Try an example brief

A small-business workflow, from brief to handover

Use a fictional stationery shop as your brief. Prepare a source-backed audience note, check a small sample spreadsheet, draft a content plan and design a workflow that waits for human approval. Present the inputs, checks, revisions and limitations together.

When you review it, ask: is the message clear, do the choices fit the audience, and are the files ready for their intended use?

This is a suggested fictional practice project, not a student result or a promised course outcome.

Computer, software and practice time.

A laptop or desktop, a current browser, internet access and time for practice. The foundations do not assume coding experience; implementation tools have their own requirements. Confirm the batch software, account access and any subscription costs before enrolling.

Use a small sample project to test your setup. For a paid application, include licence costs in your budget. Plan time to make work between sessions; watching a lesson and practising it are different jobs.

Questions about AI Career Launchpad.

How is AI Career Launchpad different from AI Prompting?

AI Prompting focuses on briefing, iteration and evaluating individual AI responses. Launchpad connects those foundations to a broader project across research, documents, sample data, workflow design and portfolio presentation. Choose the focused path for prompting practice or the broader path for a connected work project.

Do I need coding experience?

The foundations start with task design, clear instructions and checking results. Some workflow or prototype implementations may need extra technical knowledge. Ask which tools and activities are included in the current batch and try the example before choosing.

Is this a machine-learning engineering qualification?

No. This is an applied AI learning path for using and evaluating existing tools in work. Training models, advanced mathematics and production machine-learning engineering are separate areas of study.

Which tools will I use?

The focus is the workflow: research, drafting, checking, automation and handover. Ask for the exact current tool list, account requirements and paid subscriptions. Official resources linked below are further reading and do not imply a training partnership.

What should a useful capstone show?

A clear brief, permitted or fictional inputs, useful outputs, a test log and an explanation of your contribution. It should identify unsupported claims, failure cases and actions that need a person’s approval.

Does the course promise a job, salary increase or freelance income?

No. The course outline describes learning and practice. Employment, promotions and paid work depend on many factors. Ask for the actual support arrangements and written terms for your batch.
